Vinay Prasad returns to the FDA, weeks after her evidence
Washington – Vinay Prasad returns to the Food and Drug Administration to resume its supervising role the vaccine, gene therapy and the regulation of blood products.
“At the request of the FDA, Dr. Vinay Prasad takes over the leadership of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research,” the health and social services spokesman Andrew Nixon said on Saturday.
It is not clear if Prasad will also serve as medical and scientific director of the FDA. He left the agency only two weeks ago, in the midst of increasing tensions linked to a gene therapy product for the muscular dystrophy of Duchenne made by Sarepta Therapeutics and a campaign launched by the right -wing Laura Loomer, in which she criticized the previous articles of Prasad describing herself as liberal.
