CMS reverses pause on Medicare physician payments amid shutdown | STATUS
Update: This story has been updated to show that CMS has reversed its previous statement that it would suspend all Medicare payments to doctors.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said Wednesday evening that it would not suspend all Medicare payments to doctors, after a statement earlier in the day indicated that it would do so.
Instead, the agency will only wait to process claims related to programs that have expired, such as certain telehealth or rural services.
